Imam al-Haddad’s Beneficial Counsels
Imam al-Haddad’s Beneficial Counsels is a collection of nine sets of counsels in the form of letters which the Imam sent to some of his close students. Each set of counsels contains provision for the wayfarer on his or her journey to Allah. The Imam deals with topics such as taqwa, the etiquettes of prayer and performing hajj, whose company one should keep and how to illuminate one’s heart. In addition to the counsels, this book contains a small selection of the Imam’s prayers and poems.
“Among the greatest counsels of the foremost scholars of this nation are the counsels of Imam `Abdullah bin `Alawi al-Haddad. They are full of the light and purity which emanates from the truthfulness of the Imām’s words and states and the secret of his Prophetic inheritance. This has a direct effect on the heart and soul of the reader and the listener and prepares him to experience divine gifts and attain high stations.” Habib `Umar bin Hafiz
